Workforce data from the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce show that direct care positions for older adults remain 18 percent underfilled in these same counties.
Gardening Initiatives Addressing State-Specific Barriers
Community garden projects must locate plots within census tracts where the senior population density exceeds 22 percent and where at least 40 percent of households report incomes below 200 percent of the federal poverty level.
